Warisan hits hard with video campaigns

There is no better than a video campaign and if it is widely distributed through WhatsApp groups, it has an effect.

This is what Warisan Sabah is doing in the run-up to the campaign in the Sabah elections.

More Young Candidates

Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) is also expected to field more young candidates in the coming 16th State Election on Sept. 26.

The Chief Minister of Sabah Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal says youths accounted for 50 per cent of total candidates in the 14th General Election.

He also says the percentage would be higher this year.

Shafie however declined to reveal the exact number of young to be fielded.

“However, we do not intend to glorify or exaggerate whether a candidate is young or old, because balance is important and each has its own advantages.”

COURT ON ELECTIONS

Nevertheless, the embattled opposition is still fighting over the ‘legitimacy’ of the elections in Sabah.

Counsel Datuk Firoz Hussein Ahmad Jamaluddin yesterday said High Court Judicial Commissioner Leonard David Shim had erred in law in denying 33 assemblymen their application for leave for a judicial review to challenge that decision of the Yang Dipertua Negeri.

He represented the lawmakers at the Court of Appeal yesterday the legal challenge against the decision of the Yang Dipertua Negeri in dissolving the Sabah state assembly on July 30

He says it is an important constitutional issue that should be decided by a court of law.

But the latest information is the elections will still be held in time.
