Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak was found guilty of one charge of abuse of power, involving RM42 million in funds belonging to SRC International Sdn Bhd.
High Court Judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali made the decision after finding that the defence had failed to raise reasonable doubts about the charge.
Najib, 67, was charged with abuse of power and charged under Section 23 of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009.
There are six more charges to be heard.
If convicted, he can be sentenced according to Section 24 of the same act which provides for a maximum jail term of 20 years and a minimum fine of five times the value of bribes or RM10,000 whichever is higher.
